How Can I Pledge Organs?

OK you have now read the story of how I donated part of my liver. I hope it inspires you to lift up a pen and sign on the organ pledge form to donate organs after death. I do not expect everyone to do it while still alive but at least could simply pledge to donate after death.

Step 1:

Email me directly via contact details at the Contact Hoong Ling page. Let me know:
1. Your name
2. Your address
3. How many forms needed?

Step 2:

When you receive the pledge forms, sign the forms and the attach organ donor card. The forms must be returned to the National Transplant Resource Centre while the card is for you to keep with you at all times. The new version of Malaysian Organ Donor card is a self laminated card so you will be able to keep it with you more securely.

Step 3:

Tell your family members! In the end when you passed on (touch wood, of course!), it is not YOU who will donate your organs. Your family members will decide on the matter. Therefore you must inform your family members about your decision to donate organs after death. Otherwise, you may want to write a small "will" on this matter and keep it with your organ donor card.

Step 4:

Inspire more people to do it. If you need 3 forms, I will send you 4 - always another extra form so you can get one more person to do it.

How? You can:

1. Blog about organ donation or place organ donation information in your website - google around and you get a lot of organ donation information. Post a blog that inspire you to pledge your organs or link them to an article in my website which you think has inspired you to pledge your organs.

2. Tell people HOW you can pledge your organs - many people by now know about organ donation but do not know what to do and how to do it. Educate them.

3. Place organ donation details on facebook - Tell the world you have pledge your organs and why you do it so you can inspire more people to do it. You may share this site with them too.

4. Twit about organ donation and that YOU have already pledged your organs!
