Emcee/ Master of Ceremony

When Hoong Ling emcees, no one sleeps!
I started to emcee since school days, thanks to command in Malay and English, a little Mandarin, Cantonese and Tamil with smiles that charm audiences. A twist of luck made me spent my college days with the national TV as a TV presenter, anchoring live on Saturdays for Selamat Pagi Malaysia talk shows.

I remember when I co-emceed for a royal function while still a student, the main emcee said that I have the voice, loud and clear and that I should pursue emceeing as my profession. I did not listened, but I should have done earlier! Meeting a guru on hosting and emceeing in Manila, Butch Albarrachin, I eventually learned the trade and start emceeing for more events.

I have been emceeing since 1993 and all the while in Malay while I only started emceeing in English since 2008.

May I also humbly place a few testimonials below:

"WOW! Is eye-opening to have an emcee like her. I have never seen such powerful one before! She really lived up to her motto "when Hoong Ling emcees, no one sleeps""
~ Mr. Yong Chen Hui, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia, Johor State

"Great emcee! It was a great help and despite getting her last minute at midnight, she still performed professionally in a few hours time! She must be kidding that this is her first time emceeing in English."
~ Mr. KC How, Operations Manager, Persatuan Usahawan Muda Malaysia

"I didn't know our emcee today can speak so many languages, truly Bangsa Malaysia and we are proud that she is from Ipoh!"
~ YB Dato' Sri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Menteri Besar of Perak

"Your command in our national language is truly amazing!"
~ Mr. Ng Chin Long, National Youth Council and National President of Young Malaysians Movement

"She really does her homework well, all you need to do is only to give her a simple overview of the program and she did the rest. Her script was simply amazing!"
~ Mr. Wayne Lim, Group CEO of Malaysia SME

"She is our GOLD MEDAL emcee for our recent SAP-Money Compass event!"
~ Master HP Tan, Master Coach of Sunzi Art of War

"I like people who are different and Ms Chew is one of them! Really a different emcee!"

Speaker / Trainer

Specialization: Web-Based IT Solutions, Organ Donation, Skills for Front-liners and Managers, Napoleon Hill Success Principles
Language: Malay, English, mixture of Cantonese, Mandarin

I have been invited to various talk shows (even when I was only a student!) and conferences as a speaker. Slowly, I find my passion in sharing - whether is about sharing knowledge or information. Above all, I find passion in promoting the cause close to my heart - Organ Donation.

I was first invited, while still a student, as a panel speaker on a Live TV talk show and there I was spotted and being offered to be a TV Presenter for Selamat Pagi Malaysia (Good Morning Malaysia). My previous job partly also made me an IT consultant in web-based retail solution, coupled with my frequent web-based IT articles published in Money Compass and therefore I also spoke and presented much on that topic.

Being a trainer was my dream. A dream conceived when I saw my Dad training thousands of people while he was a Medical Consultant for a direct selling company. I started by training first aid in school and polish my training skills since young.

Experience as a speaker:
  • Bicara Siswa talk show Live! on RTM1 (Topic: Demokrasi: Ala Malaysia atau Ala Amerika)
  • Bicara Siswa talk show Live! on RTM1 (Topic: Pembahagiaan Sama Rata atau Mengikut Kesesuaian)
  • Bersama Anita talk show on ASTRO Ria (Topic: Pendermaan Organ)
  • International Conference for Executive PA 2009 by Marcus Evans (Topic: Building the Dynamics of Confidence), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Public Business Financial Expo 2009 at KLCC (Topic: How IT Can Be a Profitable Investment for your Business?)
  • Peter Tai class of students 2009 (Topic: How IT Can Be a Profitable Investment for your Business?)
  • VMAC International Forum for Executive PA 2010 (Topic: Handling Difficult People in the Aim of Reaching Objectives), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Napoleon Hill Associates THINK AND GROW RICH Seminar (Topic: Take On Challenge and Win It)
  • Why I Want To Become a Facilitator?
  • M2Asia 2010 Conference for Executive Secretaries and PAs (Topic: Tools and Technologies for Exec Sec & PA)
